Jim Ryan is a 30 year resident of Golden Valley seeking election to the Golden Valley City Council in the election November 7, 2017. He has retired from nearly 40 years of Federal government service, virtually all with the Social Security Administration where his service was trusted in all claims matters by various offices throughout the metro area and state.
The future of Golden Valley requires vision to implement - 1) development of employment and commercial diversity, connections for people and places, and protects the city's neighborhoods, 2) encouraging innovative transportation choices that are appealing, efficient, and safe' 3) advancing community engagement where people work together to make it even more lively, beautiful, and welcoming, 4) preserve, protect and promote our environment of open space, park, woodland, wetlands and waterways that are pollution-free, and 5) nurtures recreation places, events, and associations that maintain recreation as a focal point of family and community life. These are provided by city government guided by involved citizens and a community vision, Golden Valley’s government is responsive, efficient, and imaginative as it delivers services and makes decisions to advance our quality of life through a collaborative and consensus building city council representative of stakeholders in the community.
